Manager, Pricing and Profitability

The Wayfair Pricing & Profitability team is seeking an analytically-minded and results-driven individual with strong business instinct and excellent cross-functional collaboration skills. This role would work closely with business leaders across our categories and sites to develop and implement pricing strategies and to also utilize our pricing and browsing data to also drive broader strategic decisions. 

This is an opportunity to work on an exciting, fast-growing team within an established company and to work on some of the most critical levers to growth. The initial focus is on pricing but we are applying our analytical lens to broader strategic decisions as well.  The Pricing & Profitability team has a big appetite for bold ideas and a strong bias for action.

This role provides a great opportunity to apply business intuition, analytics, client management, and driving strategic decisions to an area of the business that has an immediate and lasting impact. Qualified candidates will be interested in gaining exposure to the inner workings of a technology company, managing a team of bright, motivated analysts and be excited to pick up basic programming skills

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage business units to hit targeted business goals
  • Monitor financial, customer, and operational data to spot trends in the business
  • Engage with various internal business partners to define and implement pricing strategy
  • Test and launch innovative new pricing approaches and strategies
  • Serve as an expert on Wayfair Pricing capabilities
  • Identify opportunities to leverage our data insights for broader strategic questions across the business
  • Manage and develop analysts

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in a data-focused, quantitative role
  • Bachelor’s degree from top-tier institution with a strong academic record, in economics, math, statistics, business or related field is a plus
  • MBA’s welcome
  • Work experience in an analytical/consulting or other client-facing role strongly preferred
  • Positive, people-oriented, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems; knack for telling stories with data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excel ninja; Interest in learning SQL and managing analytical projects
  • Ability to learn quickly and transfer knowledge
  • Interest in working hard, being challenged in a fast-paced environment, and having fun while doing it
