Vettery is hiring a

Software Engineering Intern- Spring 2017

New York, United States

Here’s the gist:

At Vettery, we are designing a platform that helps people find their dream jobs- we love the industry we work in, and as such, we take our own internal recruiting seriously.  We are looking for self-starters who care about helping people find a job they love. We're looking for hungry people with an energy to disrupt an ancient industry, while also enjoying the perks of a growing startup.

Engineering is central to who we are and interns play a critical role at the company, working on the same projects as our full-time engineers.  We have a lean, close-knit team working in an agile environment, and everything you build will have a direct impact on the product.  You’ll have access to our CTO and the rest of the engineers, with a ton of opportunities to learn and grow

What you'll do:

  • Contribute to production for our client-facing web app used by some of the fastest growing companies in tech
  • Help build our admin tools in support of the sales, operations, and marketing business units
  • Learn from our engineers through consistent pair programming and code review sessions
  • Gain hands-on experience using our stack: PHP, Javascript, AngularJS, MySQL, Elasticsearch Python, CSS, Sass, Bootstrap, Grunt, Ubuntu, AWS, Vagrant, D3.js, Apache, Nginx, Git, Protractor, Jasmine

You are:

  • Most importantly, a positive person! You'll be working in a highly demanding and ever-changing startup environment- you’ll need to handle change with grace and charm
  • A high achiever with strong programming skills (versatility is a plus!) and a hunger for knowledge and sharing
  • Currently enrolled in a Computer Science Bachelor’s program
  • Available for a three month, full-time commitment this spring (start and end dates are flexible, but we would love for you to start in January, and finish in May with the ability to extend through the summer term)

  • Competitive monthly stipend
  • Frequent team outings, lunches, and team building events
  • A beautiful office in Union Square, recently named one of Crain’s 100 Best Places to Work in New York City
  • Lots of free food: stocked kitchen + beverages
