Job Title:       Quality Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Quality Engineer will collaborate closely with co-workers and responsible for new product start-up and production activities (interface with package design, BOM and process definition, product verification and validation, product release to production, timelines, and communication) for our next-generation LiDAR sensors and associated systems. We are looking for someone exceptionally capable, creative, driven, and just as passionate about the future of transportation and perception as we are! CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure ISO 9001 certification
  • Enable TS16949 QMS for letter of conformance
  • Complete APQP end to end supply chain tasks to meet customer requirements
    • 5 core phases
  • Develop and initiate automotive quality templates
  • Conduct quality audits at suppliers for ASIC and PCBA manufacturing
  • Perform Measurement System Analysis capability studies to develop checklist criteria
  • Ability to train automotive quality processes to personnel
    • FMEA in design, manufacturing and suppliers

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Education           

 

 

                             

Required:

·      Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or related field

 

Preferred: 

·      Certified ISO Auditor

·      Lean Six Sigma certifications (black, brown or green belt)

 

 

Experience

 

Required:

·       Must have 5+ years industry experience in manufacturing setting, automotive, electronics or consumer products preferred

·       Direct knowledge automotive customer quality requirements and processes

·       Hands-on technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including: assembly & production, robotics, automation, PLC’s, time studies, material flow, and factory layout

·       Kaizen, Six sigma and Lean Manufacturing techniques

·       Familiarity with ISO14000 and OSHA regulations

·       Implementing TS16949/APQP, VDA 6.3 & VQP automotive requirements

·       Attention to details and excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Preferred: 

  • Experience with opto-mechanical system and laser alignment
  • ISO Internal Auditor
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers
  • ASIC experience
  • Autonomous vehicle quality knowledge (ISO26262 & SPICE)

·      Hands-on electro-mechanical experience in manufacturing
