SUMMARY

This position provides leadership, technical knowledge and supervisory skills to ensure optimum daily operation, maintenance, and repair of the plant’s mechanical, facility, and utility infrastructure.


CONNECTION TO MISSION
This position uses leadership, innovative thinking skills, and mechanical and electrical aptitude in an effort to maintain and improve plant machinery reliability and performance. In doing so, product quality and capacities will be maintained or improved while costs are controlled. This employee will support all personnel and food safety programs, company policies and procedures, and have a personal value system that fosters a work environment that is based on trust, human dignity, and honesty.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supervise, lead, manage, develop a maintenance team of 7 on a daily basis. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the corporate policies, procedures and applicable laws.
  • Print, assign PM’s, and update in Ross as needed to reflect steps to be performed. Implement preventive measures to improve equipment reliability.
  • Possess a strong problem solving ability to support Production and offer reliable equipment at all times.
  • Technically oriented and able to consult diagrams, technical documentation such as schematics, manuals, standards and codes. Maintain backup programs and documentation on changes for new equipment.
  • Proficiency in Computer skill such as Ross, Excel, Microsoft, Power Point, Footprints and Kronos.
  • Must be able to work day shift as needed, rotate weekends, work holidays and long days during

     projects.

  • Understand and work towards achieving Department and Plant KPI’s.
  • Experience and understanding of LEAN practices and process development preferred. Promote and develop a culture of Lean manufacturing, 5s, using problem solving skills and Root cause analysis, Value Stream mapping, Kaizen to resolve issues, (Training will be available for those without previous experience)

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Preferred: Engineering or engineering technology degree from four-year college or university that has been accredited by the Department of Education.
Optional: High school diploma plus three (3) years of maintenance experience in the food or related

industry. Must possess strong leadership ability and demonstrate electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical technical competencies.
