Content Editor

ipsy is searching for a talented, creative, associate level Content Editor to assist with conceptualizing and executing content supporting the Glam Bag. The ideal candidate is passionate about beauty (influencers, techniques, trends, brands, etc.), highly organized (pays close attention to detail i.e. can whip up a meticulous spreadsheet and draft comprehensive project briefs) and has experience in media formats ranging from social, email, site, video, print and more.

Our Content Editor will report to the Editorial Director and work closely with the Creative, Marketing, Merchandising, Product, and Programming teams. This person wants to be part of an exceptional team and has fun delivering compelling original content. Responsibilities

  • Assist the Editorial Director in developing multi-media and multi-channel editorial content for the Glam Bag that reflects ipsy’s fun, unique brand and voice in beauty.
  • Contribute ideas and content to monthly editorial concepts to support our feature story, looks, and product education.  
  • Write detailed briefs for and facilitate the execution of multi-media content (including recorded and live video, photography, and visual how-to instruction) for brands/products across key programs.
  • Brainstorm Glam Bag-related video concepts and assist with production (including: drafting pre-shoot briefs, coordinating edits with the production team, and occasionally helping on set).
  • Update spreadsheets to track the progress of content production.
  • Update calendars to capture the sequence, type, and flow of editorial storytelling.
  • Partner with the Programming team to ideate, create, and schedule posts supporting our Glam Bag that excite and delight our followers.
  • Research, compile, and present seasonal beauty trend reports to the Editorial and Merchandising teams.
  • Fact-check, write, and edit copy as needed.
  • Support the Editorial Director with creative concepting for other ipsy programs.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years experience generating unique, creative, editorial concepts and/or writing editorial copy for beauty, fashion, or women’s lifestyle brands (portfolio for review is a plus).   
  • 2-4 years experience in content development across rich media formats including social media, video, web, and email. Print experience a plus.
  • Experience managing and/or updating an editorial or marketing communications or production calendar.
  • Editorial copywriting experience preferred.
  • Deep passion for beauty, storytelling, and brands, a must.
  • Ability to multi-task and hustle in a fluid fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with creators, designers, and marketers.
  • Obsessive attention to detail and highly organized.
  • Open-minded and resourceful with a knack for problem solving.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
