Marketing and Strategy Intern

Genscape is seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic, detail-oriented intern to support the Strategy and Marketing Teams with a variety of projects over the summer of 2017. The ideal candidate is a fast learner with a positive attitude who will take advantage of the opportunity to master as many dimensions of the Strategy and Marketing Teams’ responsibilities as possible.

 

The Strategy & Marketing Intern will assist in a number of different areas including, but not limited to: competitive profiling, prospect list research, growth strategy development, website maintenance, operating marketing and PR platforms (Pardot, Vocus, Drupal, Salesforce etc.), database management, market trends identification, public relations, social media and email marketing campaigns. This is a fantastic opportunity for a go-getter to support two co-located, fast-paced teams that each tremendously impact Genscape’s performance.

 

Responsibilities:

Strategy:

Corporate Strategy: develop and document Genscape’s corporate strategy, as well as those of the individual product verticals

Growth Initiatives: assist with the development of organic and inorganic growth strategies, including market research, competitive positioning and due diligence

 

Adjacent Market Reviews: Evaluate adjacent market entry opportunities and develop partnership and standalone business case(s)

 

Presentations: Present work to internal stakeholders, including Leadership Team members, both in person and over the phone

 

Marketing:

Public Relations: Support press release submission and distribution via Genscape’s platforms and the Genscape website, as well as the maintenance and growth of the internal journalist database. Assist in tracking and promoting news citing Genscape.  

 

Website Maintenance: Update Genscape’s CMS (Drupal) with new content and resources and contribute to the understanding and implementation of SEO best practices

 

Prospect List Research: Research relevant prospects using a number of resources to target and segment different markets within the energy space and organize them in prospect database. Clean and maintain Genscape’s prospect database

 

Brand Consistency: Proof-read for consistency and accuracy across all marketing materials, company website, emails, mailings, etc. to ensure brand consistency

 

Social Media: Update Genscape’s social media properties daily (including but not limited to Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Google+) with relevant industry news and internal content

 

Functional Support: Build presentations, maintain invoices and expenses, and other day-to-day activities

 

Webinars: Support the set-up of company marketing webinars in On24 and Pardot

 

Knowledge and skills required:

  • Excellent writing skills and strong editorial skills: English composition, grammar, and proofreading
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Extremely detail oriented and organized
  • Basic knowledge of MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
