Reports To: Human Capital Manager

Position Purpose: The SPARK Schools Human Capital Officer drives student achievement in our network of schools by ensuring that all human resource matters are effectively managed at all levels of the organisation, so that staff can effectively serve our scholars. The SPARK Schools Human Capital Officer is the custodian of human resource administration to ensure that staff are supported as “A-team players.”

The Human Capital Officer ensures administrative compliance and provides advice and support to line managers and ensures that they have accurate and timely information in order to make effective decisions to ensure the network operates efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Interfaces with the recruitment team to ensure all onboarding documentation starting with the contract of employment are in place
  • Interfaces with line management and finance team to ensure relevant documentation is recorded and submitted to ensure the correct processing of benefits and salary
  • Tracks absenteeism and supports line managers to identify potential opportunities for improvement of productivity
  • Collaborates with the Recruitment Officer to ensure that teams have sufficient staff to deliver on their operational goal and targets
  • Takes responsibility for the recruitment process for SPARK Support vacancies
  • Designs and improves company policies and procedures as per company operational requirements and relevant legislation
  • Provides support to line managers to ensure employees meet the requirements of probation
  • Contributes to the effectiveness of employment wellness programmes
  • Actively develops relationship with staff to build company culture and alignment to vision and mission
  • Provides support to line managers regarding recommended remedial action for staff non compliance as per the company's disciplinary code
  • Tracks administrative record keeping and takes ownership of processes and identifies opportunities to improve efficiencies. Ensures all records and employee correspondence are correctly recorded on HR online system
