Farmers Business Network (FBNSM) is a rapidly growing data and commerce platform for farmers. FBN brings data science, machine learning, and peer-to-peer networking to agriculture. We’re creating the fastest-growing network of farmers in America, who in turn have already built the largest geospatial farm dataset - nine million acres worth (and still growing). The data have proved to be incredibly potent and farmers have asked for other ways FBN can be an independent and unbiased business partner to their farms.

Last fall, we launched FBNSM Procurement, FBN’s service that procures low-cost, high-value inputs for farmers by leveraging the buying power and data-richness of its farmer network. Procurement has helped hundreds of farmers fundamentally change the way they purchase their inputs. We are looking to scale this service from hundreds to thousands of farmers over the course of the next year.

FBN is an advocate for the farmer and was created by farmers, for farmers. We are proudly Farmers First. We’re looking for a part-time office ninja to assist with general administrative duties.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Scheduling/Booking - working with our members to book flights and hotels for our annual Farmer2Farmer event
  • Inventory Management - ensures office is well stocked with necessary supplies and snacks
  • Meal Master - working with vendors for daily catered lunches for the team
  • Date Entry - Enters information into databases of department records and services, ensures the accuracy and completeness of the data, and generates reports or outputs as needed
  • Organizing Mail - Read, route and scan incoming mail and process outgoing mail
  • Process UPS and FedEx outgoing packages
  • Create, edit, and update spreadsheets
  • Create and order business cards using standardized template
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum requirements:

  • Great customer service
  • Must be well-organized and reliable
  • Excellent computer and Google Docs suite skills
