The NOC Technicians at iboss are responsible for monitoring and maintaining our global data center ecosystems.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Managing and maintaining iboss monitoring systems
Provisioning new points of presence or nodes within existing or new points of presence
Responding to system and/or network faults to ensure internal and external SLAs are met
Following escalation procedures to engage key resources to respond to critical events
Proactively using forecasting and data trends to manage growth
Working with internal stake holders (dev/ops, support, sales) and 3rd party vendors to schedule maintenance, request and/or create RFOs and remediation strategies
Create and maintain documentation related to global points of presence and procedures
1 Year of professional technical support or data center operations experience
Proficient/Fluent written and verbal communication in English
strong diagnostic/troubleshooting skillset
RHEL and Debian Linux CLI experience
Ability to assess and prioritize incidents quickly while under pressure
Comprehensive understanding of the OSI model and internetworking
Bachelor’s Degree or working towards a Bachelor’s Degree
Experience with a variety of NMS technologies (Solarwinds, Cacti, Nagios, PRTG)
Experience writing BASH scripts
Some experience working with SNMP and extending SNMP
Capability to multitask
