App Adoption Product Marketing Manager

Slack is hiring a product marketing manager to increase third-party app adoption among Slack teams and users.  In this role you’ll be responsible for managing all marketing strategies and projects to grow app discovery and adoption.

Slack’s platform was launched in December of 2015, and has grown to include over 900 apps like GDrive and Paypal, to brand new startups building for Slack specifically. This role is part of the platform marketing team, which is responsible for the go-to-market strategy for Slack’s platform efforts, including messaging and positioning, product launches, app adoption, app-related sales enablement, and adoption analytics.

  • Build and iterate on product messaging and positioning for the App Directory, especially as new features are launched
  • Work closely with product, growth, and user research to identify, prioritize, and create the effective user experiences and marketing materials that will drive customer awareness and adoption of apps
  • Discover and build out new channels for communicating the value of apps with Slack customers and prospective customers
  • Identify and track key app adoption metrics for apps in our ecosystem, use data to refine your priorities


  • Experience working on an App Directory or App Store equivalent
  • A love for storytelling in a simple, thoughtful, and visual manner
  • Ability to define goals and prioritize your work
  • Passionate about bots and messaging as the next major platform shift is a must - this individual has to enjoy playing with apps and bots just to see what they do
  • Enterprise software experience is a plus - understanding the constraints and security measures required for admin-level adoption will be key
  • 6+ years of previous experience
