Pleo is hiring an

Account Executive for Partnerships - Danish Market

Copenhagen, Denmark

Halløjsa! Er du vores nye kollega i Team Danmark? Fedt! 🇩🇰🤩 Ok, I have tested that you can read Danish, let’s move on in English…

Cash is old school. Out of pocket expenses suck. Workplaces need to be more trusting, progressive and – that's right, we're gonna say it – fun.

And that's what we're here to do. But we need your help.

Pleo is looking for hands-on sales professionals to join our danish team in our amazing HQ in front of the lakes in Copenhagen.

As a sales person, you have never really been like the others. Bell ringing, Wolf of Wall Street quotes, and "coffee is for closers only" mugs are fun - but that's not really what gets you going in the job. Instead, you're curious and you can't even help yourself!

Every prospect you have or client you meet is a new interaction: a chance to learn about a new business, to meet a new mix of people, and to see if you could figure out how to solve their problem with the thing(s) that you're selling.

You're one of those people who tries to keep your introduction of your company short, so that you could hear all about your prospective client's company. You'd ask questions, find gaps in knowledge, and try to bridge the gap between what they need, and what you offer.

You'd spend time thinking out of the box to give that company not-just-another-salesy sales pitch. In fact, you probably hate the idea of a pitch. You'd prefer to sit down and do workshops. You'd like to understand the pains and delights of that business, and to see how you can lessen the one and uplift the other.

Each company brings you a new perspective to business, and a new challenge to try to solve. The more variety - the better. Be it in shipping or telecoms, bookkeeping or B&Bs. This is how we approach partners here at Pleo.

Are you ready to drop your smørrebrød and come to help us!?

We are trying to figure out how best to bring the most joy to accounting partners, so that they're so pleased to use Pleo that they roll it out to all of their clients. This is a new team, with a big goal.

If this resonates with you and you're for the challenge - please reach out.

But wait, you haven't heard of Pleo before? Really?

To get you off to a good start, let us just say that we are doing away with an outdated business process that’s been around forever – dreaded expense management.

We are doing that by helping customers to delegate employee spending through a business spending platform. This ends out of pocket spending, encourages autonomy and trust in employees, and takes a huge burden off the finance team. You'll be selling the SaaS tool (company spending solution) that comes with physical pre-paid cards (so with a fintech twist) that are then distributed to all employees of the company. The best part is we're all users of Pleo ourselves - so it's a very applicable tool. It impacts anyone in a company who could spend money on behalf of their business - be it a coffee with clients or a Mac for a new hire.

What we need from you on the first day:

  • Native-level fluency in Danish
  • Ambition - lots of it - and strong inner motivation paired with a positive mindset (it's the key to hitting targets 🎯 )
  • Exceptional people skills: strong listening abilities, empathy, and genuine and flowing curiosity to learn more about the people you are interacting with
  • Experience with building B2B relationships
  • A strategic and analytical mindset to plan for success - working with partners is a long-term game!
  • Ability to soak up knowledge..
  • ...and transfer knowledge in a simple and effective way

Your colleagues say you:

  • Are easy to work with
  • Suggest the latest tech/ apps/ trends to apply
  • Think laterally
  • Constantly seek out feedback to improve your skills
  • Are driven but...
  • ...don't have sharp elbows
  • Are a person they would also enjoy having a coffee with (virtual or not)

Your mom says that you

  • Have been reading the business section of the newspaper since you were about 10
  • Are an inventor at heart
  • Get your hands dirty (and she has the photos to prove it)

Show me the benefits!

  • Your own Pleo card (no more out-of-pocket spending)
  • Flexible working remote options for those onsite (just speak to your team)
  • Quarterly trips to somewhere for team camps (both company-wide ones and team-specific ones). The last one we had was in Northern Ireland! 🏰
  • Continual learning & development opportunities
  • 25 days holidays (annual)
  • Sponsored lunch

And here are some other nice gestures that we do

  • Amazing HQ where we value a great working environment (real barista coffee so you don’t have to go to a coffee shop, friday bars - we are at Denmark after all -, amazing lounge areas, rooftop terrace in the summer, among other things)
  • Loads of weird and wonderful niche communities to join in the company (we're talking guerrilla gardening, liquids tasting, the Pleo band, learning to code initiatives, that type of thing)
  • Wild enthusiasm and encouragement from us if you want to host MeetUps, events, etc - we'll help (venue, food etc)

Working at Pleo means you're working on something very exciting: the future of work. Through fintech we've seen a way to impact how people work; we think company spending should be delegated to all employees and teams, that it should be as automated as possible, and that it should drive a culture of responsible spending. Based on some pretty amazing Series B-round investment, we think we're onto something big.

So, in a nutshell, that's Pleo. Today we have a 220+ team, from over 44 nations, sitting in our Copenhagen HQ, London, Stockholm, Berlin, or Madrid offices – and even some full-time remotes. Being HQ'd out of Copenhagen means we're inspired by sensible things like a good work-life balance. If you don't work in the office with us we'll help you get up the best remote setup possible, and will fly you in once a quarter for team camps.

Sometimes, we win awards 🤩🏆
