Account Executive, Key Accounts

As an Account Executive, Key Accounts at Top Hat, you will be responsible for growing the revenue in some of Top Hat’s most strategic and substantial accounts by driving sales to new customers in those accounts.

We are looking for a proven sales executive with great energy, leadership, and initiative to drive new sales and revenue. You will formulate and execute opportunity-level strategies to maximize win rates. In this role, you will also collaborate in the execution of account plans along with the Director of Strategic Accounts, Sales Development Representatives, Customer Success Managers and SMEs aligned to the accounts in your territory.  

What you'll do:

  • You will find, create, facilitate, and close mid to large-sized new business opportunities in your assigned accounts 
  • Represent and sell the full suite of Top Hat and approved partner products and services including Top Hat’s SaaS platform and digital textbook content
  • Effectively position & message Top Hat’s value proposition to professors and/or departments, using a mixture of inside and outside sales techniques
  • You will work closely with Sales Development Representatives, Customer Success Managers and Account Directors to ensure a great customer experience for professors and to maximize revenue growth

Who you are:

  • You have 3-5 years of experience in a full-cycle sales role dealing with large accounts in a higher education or publishing environment, SaaS experience is a plus!
  • You have a strong sales acumen with the ability to be creative with closing and adapting to different business needs
  • You have the sales skills, including the ability to drive & close large/complex deals, prospect effectively, and run the full sales cycle (including cold calling, demos, discovery, solution presentation, negotiation and close)
  • You have effective organizational and time management skills
  • You have a strong ability to interpret and apply coaching quickly
  • You have completed a bachelor's degree or have demonstrated equivalent experience
  • You are highly motivated, smart, achievement-oriented and excited to join a team that is driving change in higher education
