Account Manager - Lifestyle and Entertainment

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for maximising commercial opportunities and generating advertising revenue from clients across our Commercial business area. You will be selling print, digital, creative solutions and awards sponsorship.

Your role will be a mixture of speaking to your clients on the phone, going to see them face to face, and regularly communicating with them via email. You will talk confidently about the market you work in and be able to expertly pitch for business and hold a negotiation both over the phone and face to face.

By working with editorial, marketing, and other areas of the business, you will build bespoke ideas, and then pitch and sell these to your client base to generate revenues. Develop a good knowledge of the Future brands and ad products to enable your success.

Represent Future to your clients, identify client needs and build advertising solutions that will win business.

We will help you develop your sales skills to allow you to grow as the business grows.

Develop and maintain a pipeline to meet monthly and quarterly targets.

Maintain and present reports on account progress, goals, and quarterly initiatives to share with team members, stakeholders, and possible use in future case studies or training.

Developing a solid and trusting relationship between clients and Future.

Resolving key client issues, complaints and objections.

Developing a complete understanding of key account needs and provide customer relationship management.

Expand existing relationships and generate new sales leads through prospecting.

Strategic planning to improve client results and total spend, maximising profit by up-selling Future products and brands

Negotiate contracts with the client and establish a timeline of bookings.

Work with internal teams to put together proposals that will win client business.

Perform ongoing market research


  • Strong sales skills
  • Ability to sell all products & media types (Creative Solutions, Digital, Print, Events etc) to advertising agencies and to clients
  • Secures good new business revenues
  • Grows revenues from existing client base
  • Books long term business on a series (minimum 6 months) to secure forward bookings.
  • Creating (with support from manager) sales material and presentations to pitch for CS revenues or long term business that wins the business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan pipeline and lead, develop and drive patch to hit goals and targets;.
  • Works well as part of a team and independently
  • Excellent influencing, objection handling, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Good personal time management
  • Close business within deadline to hit targets and goals
