Accounts Receivable Specialist

Twilio is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to the join the Accounting team. Reporting to the A/R & Collections Analyst, the A/R Specialist will support the Order to Cash team, and focus on day-to-day duties related but not limited to the following: cash application, credit & collections, merchant account reconciling and various tasks to support our revenue team.

Responsibilities:

  • Cash application of customer payments within billing and financial systems
  • Accounting for merchant transactions for customers paying by credit card & PayPal
  • Collections calls to customers as needed
  • Credit checks on new and existing customers
  • Manage the Billing & Collections Team email alias to ensure all external customer inquiries have been addressed promptly
  • Support the Revenue Team in miscellaneous projects
  • Month end tasks including uploading customer invoices to web portals as required and special invoice requests
  • Audit and tax support

Requirements: 

  • 3 years of relevant accounting/finance experience
  • B.S. in Accounting/Business Administration or the equivalent
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working with Netsuite and Salesforce.com desired
  • Solid experience working with large volume transactions
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Solid Excel skills

Bonus points:

  • Experience working with a company’s “home grown” billing system
  • Prior start up, technology company experience
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, ever-changing environment with some ambiguity as well as need for directing energy and thinking outside-the-box
