Job Description:
The Division of Communication, Art, and Media is seeking a qualified instructor to teach ART/THTR 250, Dance Forms.
The course is an introductory dance and movement course that familiarizes students to a variety of dance and movement styles (e.g., jazz, modern, tap, pop, Viewpoints, contemporary, etc.) and engages students in a rigorous critical analysis of chosen forms and their foundations in historical, cultural, and aesthetic contexts.
The course is part of the College’s CORE curriculum and, as such, requires instructors to include course content that fosters development in key CORE competency areas such as critical thinking, analytical skills, and effective communication. The course is open to all students, and is a requirement for CMSV Theatre Majors.
The course will be offered during the 2023 Fall semester on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 - 8:45pm, beginning on August 28, 2023.
Compensation: $1000 per credit, per course.
Interested Applicants:
Should have a MFA in Dance and a background in teaching at the high school and/or college level. Substantial professional and teaching experience will be considered in lieu of an advanced degree in dance.
