We’re looking for an exceptional Agile Delivery Manager to join our “office” based team to help deliver easy-to-use, thoughtful product experiences and engaging interfaces that our patients, doctors, and partners will love. You’ll be developing the future of healthcare - affordable, accessible, high quality health and sick care in collaboration with a passionate team of doctors and medical innovators and in partnership with leading international tech and health care organisations. 

You’ll also be joining Babylon Health at an exciting and challenging time as we aggressively expand our products to serve new markets ranging from Africa, South Asia, Europe, Middle East and the USA, while also emphasising the importance of an easy-to-use, outcome driven, and delightful product experience across all devices. We work in multidisciplinary tribes and squads that focus on particular products or customer groups.

What we are looking for
We are looking for someone to manage delivery across 2 cross-functional product development squads within the Data Tribe. You might also be responsible for managing more complex cross team projects where required and setting up mechanisms to identify and resolve dependencies. You will be able to use your servant leader skills to help teams and individuals collaborate and communicate in effective and sustainable ways.

Responsibilities:

  • Own complete delivery (typically of 2 squads)
  • Facilitate workshops and ceremonies (roles & responsibilities, ways of working, story mapping, stand ups, etc...)
  • Ensure meetings are effective, with squad members clear on outcomes
  • Support the squad with compliance to the sSDLC framework as appropriate
  • Ability to actively address internal and external risks, issues and dependencies including where ownership exists outside the squad
  • Work with the squad or externals to remove emergent blockers
  • Assist the squad in defining and achieving their goals
  • Assist the squad to early and continuous delivery of valuable software
  • Set up a development approach in collaboration with the squad
  • Guide the squad towards self-organisation
  • Create transparency by radiating information using the relevant approach
  • Help squads create their culture and vision and Identify and correct dysfunctions
  • Identify and track metrics around phases of the software delivery cycle to recommend better ways of working and identify quality / speed bottlenecks
  • Coach squads of varying maturity to improve using an agile approach

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience with squad frameworks and methodologies
  • Understands important concepts like technical debt, test left and differing approaches to agile data driven methodologies (TDD, BDD, DDD)
  • Understands CI/CD and how it applies to the agile framework
  • Understands the relationships between each of the artefacts and able to to implement them in complex, real world situations
  • Enough understanding of the Tech stack / Product to independently answer basic queries from outside squad or direct to the relevant person
  • Ability to shield the squad from disturbance and external distraction
  • Understand how agile approaches the specifics of planning, estimating and forecasting
  • Understanding the value of facilitation and ability to apply techniques as appropriate
  • Understanding of different cultural models and how squad dynamics can impact delivery 
  • Understands and demonstrates an agile mindset through prioritisation of the customer, squad and networks
  • Fosters more frequent collaboration and open dialogue within squads and Stakeholders/customers
  • Encourage independent problem solving
  • Cross pollinates successful practices between the squads they work with
  • Facilitates squads technical solutions and challenges them to avoid gold plating or over-design
  • Provides feedback and frame experiments to steer the squads toward better quality
  • Help identify metrics of success for initiatives to visualise the impact achieved and provide input to improvement initiatives
  • Awareness of different formal coaching techniques and an understanding of to apply them in a squad context
