AML Compliance Officer

Robinhood is seeking to hire an AML Compliance Officer to join its brokerage operations team. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, the AML Compliance Officer will be responsible for providing AML Program Supervisory support and consistently improving our operations. 

As the AML Compliance Officer you’ll: 

  • Provide AML Program Supervisory support

  • Conduct analysis, monitoring and testing

  • Review current customers' acounts and ensure CIP/KYC information is in good order

  • Enforce and maintain the AML supervisory program established by the Firm

  • Review/investigate all information acquired from various surveillance tools in use by Firm, such as trade activity and money movements for activity that may present regulatory violations, fraudulent activity, or transactions, which may present risk to the firm
  • Strategically improve current work flow and system inefficiencies, automate manual processes, and collect and improve operating metrics
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the business and development teams
  • Assist in the early identification and escalation of risks, issues, trends and developments for reporting to the CCO to raise issues/concerns outside the normal audit process, where appropriate
  • Provide support to CCO by review and filing of FinCEN reports, and in the handling of regulatory inquiries and on-site examinations
  • Prepare/conduct training on AML, OFAC, FCPA and privacy matters
  • Be informed of and anticipate changes in regulatory regimes in each jurisdiction and implement appropriate changes to compliance practices and policies
  • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk and lead projects relationg to the enhancement of compliance procedures, policies and internal controls that support the Firm's business
  • Undertake other Supervisory tasks as assigned by the firm


Some things we consider critical to being an AML Compliance Officer: 

  • 5+ years AML Supervision and Controls experience in an online retail brokerage or self clearing financial services firm

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Series 7, 24, 63 or 66
  • Superior expertise, investigative skills and strong knowledge of BSA, AML, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and privacy laws as they apply to financial institutions
  • Ability to write and edit the BSA/AML/OFAC compliance manuals and review other bank policy and procedure manuals as appropriate
  • Ability to coordinate BSA/AML/OFAC training effort including the development and delivery of training
  • Experience in reviewing and executing BSA/AML/OFAC audit and compliance testing plans
  • Excellent communication skils
