Role & responsibilities

You’ll join one of our cross-platform mobile teams and participate in the development of the backend services that support our native Android and iOS apps. You’ll collaborate with product owners and UX designers to deliver high-quality features that will expand and grow the online presence of several international retailers. You’ll be given autonomy to try out new technologies and techniques that support our business and long term goals. You’ll be encouraged to share your solutions and findings with a wide audience inside and outside Ocado

We are looking for dedicated Android Software Engineers to join our cross-functional agile team as we continue the development of this technically challenging and ever-evolving suite of apps.

Role & responsibilities:

  • Development of the OSP Mobile Android application 
  • Writing and maintaining automation tests suites
  • Work collaboratively inside and outside the team to achieve business objectives

  • Good spoken and written English
  • Strong programming and object-oriented design skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the Android SDK and modern development tools such as Android Studio
  • Experience working on published Google Play store apps
  • Pragmatic, but with a keen eye for detail
  • Passion for and understanding of automated testing


  • Computer Science (or related subject) degree
  • Working knowledge of Kotlin
  • A fanaticism for clean code!
  • An understanding and some experience of Agile software development
  • Experience working in a continuous delivery environment
  • A mastery of git!
  • Knowledge of iOS or backend Java development
  • Exposure to Reactive programming paradigms
