The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth, a DevOps mindset, and the ability to independently drive outcomes in a lean, high-ownership environment.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Analyze large cost and usage datasets to identify trends, anomalies, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities, translating insights into actionable recommendations.

·      Design and implement cost management strategies

·      Design, build, and maintain advanced cost dashboards and visualizations using Amazon QuickSight.

·      Take full ownership of FinOps initiatives, including planning, execution, validation, documentation, and stakeholder communication.

·      Implement and enforce tagging strategies to enable accurate cost allocation and reporting.

·      Implement changes and optimize AWS environments with minimal to no involvement from the SRE/Infrastructure team.

·      Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python / Bash / PowerShell) for cost optimization, reporting, and governance workflows.

·      Analyze AWS and containerized workloads to identify cost-saving opportunities such as rightsizing, autoscaling, and workload optimization.

·      Use AWS SDKs, APIs, and CLI to build automation workflows for cloud operations and cost governance.

·      Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform to deploy cost-efficient and compliant architectures.

·      Use GitLab for version control, CI/CD workflows, and automation pipelines related to FinOps tooling and infrastructure changes.

·      Manage work items in Jira, including ticket creation, estimation, sprint tracking, and delivery alignment.

·      Ensure sprint commitments are planned, tracked, and completed in alignment with sprint goals.

·      Set up monitoring, alerting, and governance controls using AWS native tools such as CloudWatch, Trusted Advisor, and Cost Explorer.

·      Generate and automate reports on cost trends, anomalies, risks, and realized savings for stakeholders.

·      Proactively identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities beyond immediate task requirements.

Required Skills:

·      Advanced knowledge of AWS services with a strong focus on cloud cost management, EKS, and serverless workloads.

·      Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets, perform cost modelling, and reason quantitatively about trade-offs and optimization decisions.

·      Expert-level experience with Amazon QuickSight, including dataset modeling, calculated fields, performance optimization, and dashboard design for executive and engineering audiences.

·      Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes environments, including scaling, workload optimization, and cost tracking.

·      Strong Python scripting skills for automating FinOps and cloud operations workflows.

·      Proficiency with AWS SDKs, APIs, and CLI.

·      Strong experience using GitLab for source control, merge requests, and CI/CD pipelines.

·      Hands-on experience managing work and sprints using Jira.

·      Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.

·      Proven ability to analyze cost and usage data, identify patterns, and recommend actionable optimizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

●       AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or AWS Certified Kubernetes Administrator

●       Prior experience in a FinOps Engineer role or similar position.

Soft Skills:

●       Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate autonomously and drive outcomes end to end.
