Applications Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Application Engineer with familiarity in power management, battery & charging systems, and/or electronic and mechatronic systems. IoT and/or consumer electronics background is ideal. Experience in phased array, radar, and ultrasound is also beneficial.

The successful candidate would be a natural leader that is hands-on and customer facing with the ability to explain technical points to a variety of audiences, which includes the promotion and demonstration of uBeam technology. If you possess a keen understanding of design, product development, and have excellent communication skills, we are looking for you. Having a successful launch record is a plus.




  • Develop and test customer application evaluation boards
  • Rapid prototype development with input from customer engagement
    • Electrical board layout
    • Mechanical enclosure design with a focus on industrial design
  • Understanding of electrical systems for integration into uBeam technology
  • Develop application hardware, application notes, articles and technical paper regarding usage and recommendations
  • Understand system solutions and design decision and trade-offs in order to make recommendations on design selections for cost/benefit ratio
  • Experience of integration of design into mass produced product
  • Support systems engineering for device and system level testing from potential customer requests
  • Expertise in these type of areas: MEMS, Acoustics, Mixed Signal circuit design, design & measurement techniques, automated test environments, signal techniques & tools, PCB design is helpful
  • Electrical board layout
  • Mechanical enclosure design with a focus on industrial design

Customer Facing

  • Analyze and prioritize design requirements, and provide feedback to engineering team
  • Review customer schematics and layout
  • Debugging of solution in customer applications on-site of customer
  • Work with validation customers to identify new feature sets or requirements
  • Function as the primary support point of contact for sales, engineers, and customers
  • Able to lead technical discussions and to present technical features and benefits of our products


  • Ability to work with evolving priorities and competitive demands
  • Initiative and skilled in planning and executing projects


  • At minimum a BSEE is required, and an MSEE is preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience w/ MSEE (Manager/Director potential based on experience)
  • Hands-on experience with power supply, sensor products is beneficial
  • Experience in bringing new technologies to volume production
  • Full life-cycle experience through to commercialization
