Artists and Repertoire Lead - 1 year contract

In this role, you will deliver the value proposition to the artists in their repertoire center and the experience the local artist is looking for.

You will be accountable for breaking local artists and guide their creative evolution to keep them culturally relevant in the market and realize their revenue potential.

 

What you'll do:

Create and evolve the artist’s persona

  • Develop the artist profile, story, image, styling, looks, and narrative
  • alignment to the artist’s music, personality, and the way they want to relate to their fans
  • Work with other teams to roll out strategies to maintain their artists’ cultural and social relevancy over time

 

Develop and enhance the artist’s music and creative capability

  • Build solid relationships with local artists and create a long-term vision that enables their musical and creative evolution over time
  • Work collaboratively with other teams at SME Thailand to deliver the value proposition to their artists, including but not limited to:
  • Music career development and evolution to break locally
  • Audience and content development, social media marketing, online promotion, influencers, and advertising
  • Fandom management and engagement
  • Music production
  • Digital sales strategy with the relevant global and local DSPs
  • Build a network across the music industry and the surrounding technology ecosystem and leverage it to provide artists with additional vehicles to engage with fans and stay current

 

Realise the artist’s revenue potential

  • Find and sign new artists to build a strong repertoire, and consistently break hits to grow their repertoire centre revenue
  • Be commercial and forward thinking in their approach to deals and propositions and ensure that deals are closed in a timely and satisfactory manner

·      Understand and make use music and technology trends and the general consumers’ demands to drove revenue, including but not limited to gaming, digital assets, metaverse, and social media

 

Who you are:

  • At least 5-8 years of experience working in A&R and / or Senior Marketing / Product manager role in the creative industry
  • Artistic vision: Ability to create a vision for the artist and to translate it into a tangible and holistic value proposition that maximises the artist’s relevancy and marketability
  • Storytelling: Ability to build a solid narrative for the artist, including core identity and backstory, brand, semiotics, image, visuals, and translate that into tangible marketing and fan experience and engagement actions
  • Business and industry acumen: Thorough understanding of music and the contemporary music scene, the trends that are shaping the industry and driving consumption, what drives commercial success for music and deep knowledge of consumer taste
  • Data literacy: Ability to analyse the music market and relevant data and apply insights to make decisions to drive / improve results
  • Communication: Ability to articulate an idea or point of view verbally or in writing succinctly, with clarity and confidence, adapting the message to different audiences
  • Relationship management: Build trusting and long-lasting relationships with artists and their ecosystem, as well as with external and internal stakeholders; creating a network of connections and building credibility and rapport at all levels of the business
  • Innovative thinking: Ability to look at things in new ways and taking the initiative to identify and implement new approaches to address challenges, bring more revenue and drive continuous improvement
  • Teaming: Ability to work collaboratively with people from different disciplines and backgrounds to create and execute ideas and deliver value

 

Other:

  • Graduate - having a Music/Media degree not a must, but good to have
  • English is preferred but not compulsory
  • Speaking and writing in Thai language is a must
