Requirements

Assembly Technician with an electrical bias that is enthusiastic and will to participate in a varied role within All.Space from Cabling, PCB repair and assembly through to Programming of test equipment and robotics. Initially the role will concentrate on operating and maintaining 3D printers to produce pre-production components while tightly following all safety, production, and quality processes. In addition, the role will also be responsible for evaluating and characterizing the resulting components against requirements to confirm ensure the critical quality and compliance requirements are met. This will include operating an antenna measurement system in an anechoic chamber.

In addition, the role will involve building electromechanical subassemblies, assembling complex and intricate circuit boards (PCBAs) mechanical components, cable harnesses etc.e including testing and verifying and updating production records.

Other tasks may include, on request, reporting and data recording, subsystem assembly, operation of component, subcomponent, system, or subsystem test and validation with manual or automated measurements, mechanical/geometric characterization against a threshold, organisation and control of production materials and cleaning and maintenance of light duty equipment and tools.

Production goals and deadlines will be in place, and shift working may (from time to time) will be required. Training will be provided.

The successful candidate will join a fast-moving and innovative team to create first-of-their-kind products. No day is the same with a variety of skilled activities

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain a suit of (approx. 27) 3D printers ensuring that they are operation, performing day to day maintenance and basic fault finding
  • Initiate Printing of lenses and monitor progress and throughput - Report on Progress
  • Undertake Quality Inspection of lenses, record results and report on issues and throughput - Inspection criteria are mainly dimensional checks and weights
  • As All space sets up facilities for Moulded lens productions then the role will transition to assisting with production and the operation of equipment associated in the manufacturer and test within the Portman Road of moulded lens increasing the volume throughput
  • All training to be given by All space including how to maintain a 3D printer
  • Ordering 3D printer spares and material
  • The role will also assist the existing manufacturing team with PCB bring up and testing, repairs and in house population of simple PCB's
  • Assistance in building test equipment and facilities .
  • PCB, Assembly and finished product testing as well as calibration activities
