 What you’ll do

 

As the Associate of Corporate Accounting in the Asia-Pacific region, you will be responsible for Point72’s accounting in Hong Kong, Australia, and Taiwan. You’ll join a diverse and global team of problem solvers, innovators, and analytical thinkers as we maintain high standards for business service and help position our Firm for the future. Specifically, you will:

  • Be responsible for all aspects of the accounting requirements for the Firm’s management companies in Hong Kong, Australia, and Taiwan, including:
    • Overseeing day-to-day and month-end accounting and regulatory reporting processes
    • Managing annual financial statement audit process
    • Partnering with Tax team to assist with preparation of tax filing, where applicable
    • Liaising with Legal and Compliance to ensure regulatory reports are complete and accurate
  • Maintain direct connectivity with Point72’s U.S.-based teams and international staff based across APAC
  • Think dynamically, collaboratively, strategically, and globally to help the team manage risk, enhance processes, and solve problems
  • Frequently interact with senior members of the U.S. and international management teams as well as regulators and local accounting and law firms

 
What’s required

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience
  • Flexibility to maintain non-standard hours periodically to accommodate communication with the U.S. corporate office
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting  
  • 4-7+ years of technical accounting experience including Hong Kong GAAP; experience with IFRS, Australian, and Taiwan accounting standards will be helpful in this role
  • Experience with regulatory reporting for registered companies in Hong Kong
  • Experience with SAS70/SSAE 18/SOC1-based control requirements
    • Experience managing accounting processes in multiple foreign currencies
  • Highly proactive and organized
  • Strong data analysis skills/experience
  • Strong experience with monthly close process, procedures, and systems and process re-engineering
  • Experience with Workday will be helpful
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards
