Associate Director- 3D Visualization Operations

 

Wayfair is looking to bring on an Associate Director that will own the Operations for one of the most innovative and fastest growing departments at Wayfair. The 3D Visualization department is driving innovation daily to revolutionize the imagery available to our customers. The team is highly visible within the organization and is leading and scaling some of the most strategic initiatives for Wayfair. 

 

The Associate Director of 3D Viz will lead a current group of 15~ responsible for improving operational efficiency of imaging through process improvement and cross-functional collaboration. He or She will be entrusted to develop current and future leaders as well as motivating teams as the function continues to grow. As a key, visible member, of the Wayfair leadership team, the Associate Director will need to collaborate across several internal and external teams (Merchandising, Exclusive Brands, Imaging, 3D creative, off-shore services) to resolve complex operational, technology, and process issues. This individual will need a strong sense of urgency and great problem solving skills to create the scalable solutions that will take us deeper into this exciting new technology!

 

Responsibilities:

  • Vision & Planning:
    • Set the vision & roadmap for the 3D visualization Department – planning new initiatives in partnership with other departments.
    • Plan & forecast Department capacity, expenses, & outputs.
    • Utilizing sound judgement to take risks and move quickly to keep up with constant changes.
  • Collaboration
    • Work closely with Senior Leadership across the organization to define and refine processes standards, output, & quality targets.
    • Communicate performance metrics to key stakeholders throughout the organization to gain continued buy-in for Department initiatives.
    • Partner effectively with General Managers of our Exclusive Brands teams for optimal operations strategy.
    • Drive operations trade-offs with Creative output.
  • Reporting & Analytics
    • Utilize Wayfair’s limitless data to understand the scope, impact and priority of our business objectives.
    • Enable the team to transform that knowledge into specific throughput and quality goals.
  • Team Building
    • Lead and mentor a large sized team (15+).
    • Assess and develop current and future leaders.
    • Maintain the highest expectation level for team performance.


Job Requirements:

  • MBA from top tier school or equivalent experience
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • High comfort level with technology-driven environments
  • Experience managing a large team in ecommerce or relevant operations field
  • Process-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically and tactically within a dynamic, fast-paced organization
  • Extremely collaborative and effective in a cross-functional environment
  • Evidence of “scrappy startup execution” and how to ‘get it done’ attitude no matter what when time is tight and stakes are high
  • Ability to manage through ambiguity, stress, adversity and conflict to establish focus and deliver against business goals
  • Able to quickly learn necessary technical tools. Experience with SQL a plus.
