Who We Are

 

Do you want to lead the European Brand Marketing division of a leading global e-commerce company? Wayfair is looking to grow our TV advertising and broader Brand Marketing businesses including online video, out-of-home (e.g. billboards), and direct mail programs.

We are looking for a senior leader to own a multi-million dollar budget and accelerate the growth of our TV and offline advertising businesses. We currently operate in the UK and Germany and are exploring strategic expansions. The Head of TV and Offline Marketing will be responsible for growing existing markets and expanding these channels into new geographies across Europe.

As one of Wayfair’s largest marketing channels, TV advertising is essential to making Wayfair a household name for all things home. This is a very exciting role that combines analytical thinking (e.g., data-driven steering of ad spend) with Creative judgment (e.g., what makes Ads memorable).

The Head of TV and Offline marketing will lead an internal team of 3-5, and directly manage relationships with many external partners - including media and buying agencies, data providers, printers etc. In addition, s/he will partner tightly with our in-house Creative and Brand teams to produce strong and memorable TV and offline ads that resonate with our target audience.

Marketing at Wayfair is a key growth driver and important part of our overall success. The Marketing team is a diverse and international team of customer advocates who enjoy moving fast and taking creative risks. Our Berlin-based team owns and operates a full suite of marketing channels in Europe including TV, Facebook, Instagram, Google, Email, Direct Mail, and more.

 

What You'll Do

 

  • Own multi-million dollar ad spend line and end-to-end channel management for TV and offline marketing in Europe: strategy, team & agency management, creative direction etc. 
  • Develop the vision and own the strategy for growing these channels, including scoping and launching formats nascent to Wayfair (e.g., connected TV, OTT, radio,  out-of-home etc.) 
  • Lead an internal team of 3-5 and directly manage a broad portfolio of external teams e.g., media agencies, data providers, printers etc. 
  • Partner with Wayfair’s in-house Creative and Brand Experience teams to develop strong ads, based on quantitative (what worked) & qualitative (why) learnings from prior ads
  • Lead new market entry for your channels (incl. new geography/market analysis and investigation, RFP/negotiation local agencies, coordination with internal teams etc) 
  • Partner with cross-functional colleagues from US and Europe including US channel leadership, Visual Merchandising, Data Science etc. to deliver on your vision 
  • Lead your team in analyzing campaigns’ performance and optimizing spend mix

 

What You'll Need

 

  • Proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced cross-functional environment, and taking good decisions with imperfect information
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, including but not limited to hypothesis-driven problem solving for complex multi-layer problems
  • Strong people developer with  extensive team management experience
  • Senior leadership experience in e-commerce or management consulting preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to tailor style based on audience
  • Deep interest in consumer behavior coupled with a keen creative eye
  • Bachelors / Masters degree preferably in quantitative fields with strong academic record
