Billing Specialist

The Billing Specialist will play a key role on the Accounting team, ensuring the timely and accurate performance and monitoring of the billing process. The ideal candidate is dedicated to providing timely and accurate billing and invoicing, as well as supporting our internal and external customers in the process.


  • Invoice our customers.
  • Adjust billings in accordance with enrollment and loan partner agreements.
  • Research and resolve transaction or billing exceptions daily.
  • Monitor daily activity and perform quality control processes to ensure accurate processing of information.
  • Interact with students and internal stakeholders for general billing, accounts receivable, payment, and collection inquiries.
  • Generate financial reports detailing billing and accounts receivable status.
  • Assist with Month-End Close.
  • Ensure domestic and foreign tax compliance in the billing cycle, including sales, VAT, GST, and PAYG taxes.
  • Assist with the information-gathering related to the preparation of the federal income and state tax returns.
  • Ad-hoc projects as needed.

  • 2+ years in A/R, billing, and collections experience
  • Knowledge of Excel
  • Financial systems experience (e.g., Oracle, NetSuite, GreatPlains, etc.)
  • Start-up experience preferred
