Position Summary

The Business Development Executive is responsible for creating new business opportunities for the Ten-X Commercial Real Estate team, developing relationships with commercial real estate owners and brokers. The role will require working with a Manager in the field and collaborating with a transactional manager on project deliverables (Pool Analysis, valuations, and underwriting).  Additionally, the role will allow the individual the ability to innovate and lead process improvements, share best practices and leverage cutting edge tools to improve the sales process.


  • Develop and execute strategies for lead generation, prospecting new business, sales, and other matters related to new revenue generation through the commercial real estate marketplace.
  • Maintain relationships with financial institutions, commercial real estate owners and brokers to provide existing and new listings to upcoming auction events.
  • Conduct meetings/sales presentations with financial institutions, with commercial real estate owners and investment firms via phone and web technology.
  • Conduct market analysis and provide feedback to leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs, and generate new business and project development ideas.
  • Create and develop sales presentations for one-on-one sessions and webinars.
  • Act as a conduit between Ten-X Commercial Private Client team and the broker and/or seller.
  • Oversee all commercial auctions and maintain strong understanding of sales results for designated asset classes and regions.
  • Keep abreast on all aspects of auction process, buyer and seller side, including marketing, legal, IT and client management.
  • Partner with management team and marketing department to maximize effectiveness of presentations and meetings.
  • Providing client support and education of the auction process.

  • Established relationships with brokers and commercial real estate owners
  • Excellent ability to work independently without supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills
  • Passion for technology and building a sustainable online commercial auction platform
  • Highly effective and persuasive sales ability
  • Able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytic, organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Good interpersonal and team building skills including goal setting and conflict resolution


  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a Business Development role
  • Prior sales experience  especially complex selling similar to SaaS or other technology staffing.
  • Prior work experience in commercial real estate or sales strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in sales oriented environment without guidance
