MarketInvoice, one of the UK’s leading Fintechs, is looking for a Business Development Manager to broaden its customer base so more businesses can get the funding they need to grow.
Who you’ll be working with
You’ll report directly to Alex. He’s our Business Development Director whose track record for bringing in new business is significantly better than his ability on the tennis court. Alex is responsible for running the commercial team for our partnership with Barclays Bank UK PLC.
You’ll be part of a talented team of high performers including Dom, Will and Sam. Between them they’re responsible for all of MarketInvoice’s net new customer acquisition through strategic partnerships including the Barclays partnership. When they’re not closing deals, you’ll find them training for triathlons, making fresh homemade pasta and travelling the world.
At MarketInvoice, the opportunity for growth is as big as your ambition. Whether that’s progressing to a more senior leadership role or exploring an entirely new career path within the business. Maybe this job is part of your journey to starting your own business one day. We have big dreams and we expect you to have the same.

At MarketInvoice, our vision is for entrepreneurs to have the time to build the world we all want to live in.
We think entrepreneurs should be able to get on with growing their business, instead of having to worry about cash flow. That’s why we’re making it quick and easy to get funding through our invoice finance and business loans. We’re here to unlock the endless possibilities that arise when entrepreneurs have time to focus on what they love.
With our smart online platform, we were a Fintech before that was even a thing. But it’s not just about the tech. One of our biggest assets is our team of bright, talented and motivated people from all over the world. It’s one of the things our customers value most about us and one of the best things about working here.
We get stuff done quickly at MarketInvoice, with less talk and more action. It’s about thinking differently and not being afraid to do things that have never been done before.
Culture is a big deal for us. There’s always something happening, from fiercely competitive quiz nights to our Friday Town Hall meetings that roll into socialising on the roof terrace. We work, celebrate, share ideas, eat (lots of biscuits) and are always learning together as a team.
What you’ll be doing
As a Business Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in our game-changing partnerships including Barclays Bank UK PLC. You’ll help drive engagement within the partnership regions, helping their customers get funding for growth by tailoring the right solution for their business.
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to really move the needle for MarketInvoice by selling our solutions to a wide range of UK businesses. This partnership set MarketInvoice off on an exciting trajectory of accelerated growth. You and your team will be driving this growth from the front line so you’ll need to be a commercial, high performing BDM to make it happen.
You’ll have a lot of autonomy and take full responsibility over how you spend your time, whether that’s building/developing your network of partners or closing on existing new business prospects in your pipeline. We’re excited for the experience of working independently and to revenue targets that you’ll bring to the role. These will be enriched by support from your team as well as mentoring from your manager and leaders within the wider business.
We look forward to seeing your knack for developing relationships in action as you quickly build the trust of prospective customers. You’ll use your excellent listening skills to understand their needs and your commercial mindset to figure out how best to meet them. You’ll put your negotiation expertise to work, holding your own in front of demanding customers and using your great communication/presentation skills to frame MarketInvoice’s solutions in clear and in simple terms.
With competitor landscape and brand training from the outset, you’ll understand how MarketInvoice fits into the wider-ecosystem of SME and enterprise service providers and exactly why our USPs are important in today’s fast-changing business environment. You’ll be a valued member of your own and the wider MarketInvoice team, supporting key initiatives across the business.
Not only will you have the opportunity to make a huge impact at one of the UK's leading Fintechs, you’ll also have access to:
