The Team You’ll Work With

The Senior Business Development Manager - Investor Services - Audit/Big4 will represent Carta in-market and support the company’s efforts to grow its network, deepen existing relationships, and develop additional business opportunities across the investment management network. The Business Development (Partnerships) team works cross-functionally to drive ecosystem partnerships to accelerate our growing business. Ideal candidates will be energized by building and managing external relationships, cross-functional collaboration, digging into data, identifying and building on strategy, finding scalable and repeatable best practices, constructing strategic communications, and helping to change practice across a dynamic industry. 

The Problems You’ll Solve

The Senior Business Development - Investor Services - Audit/Big 4 will represent Carta in-market and support the company’s efforts to grow its network, deepen existing relationships, and develop additional business opportunities across the investment management network, with a focus on owning and growing Carta’s relationship with audit and tax partners while deepening Carta’s reach and depth in the investment management industry at large. 

This role will spearhead Carta’s relationships with Big 4 and national accounting firms, serve as a liaison and ensure productive coordination across all key markets and offices.  This role will manage the strategy, insights, and drivers for building these relationships while working closely with our Go To Market/Sales team to understand market insights and help our sales motions, Product leaders to build and deliver the products needed to empower our partners, Delivery team to ensure that clients are adequately supported, and Marketing organization to hone and craft Carta’s message.  

The Business Development (Partnerships) team works cross-functionally to drive ecosystem partnerships to accelerate our growing business. As such, this role will not be limited to working with accounting partners, but will also be responsible for facilitating Carta’s relationships across the industry.  Ideal candidates will be energized by building and managing external relationships, cross-functional collaboration, digging into data, identifying and building on strategy, finding scalable and repeatable best practices, constructing strategic communications, and helping to change practice across a dynamic industry. This is a cross-functional role with potential for tremendous impact on Carta’s business and innovation efforts.  

  • Develop relationships with decision makers and thought leaders at Big 4 and national accounting firms across key markets 
  • Identify and cultivate new opportunities for market penetration and expansion 
  • Consolidate and communicate insightful feedback from market actors
  • Collaborate with Product, Go To Market, Delivery and other internal teams to influence future roadmaps and product improvements—particularly those that will enable collaboration with, and streamline workflows for, Big 4 and national accounting firms 
  • Collaborate with business development colleagues at Carta who are based in key markets within the US and Canada to help them form stronger connections within their respective territories 
  • Identify target organizations for strategic alignment and key industry events at which Carta should have representation 
  • Provide input on, and participate in, go-to-market strategies and activities for new products & features

The Impact You’ll Have

Qualifications

  • Strategic thinking with regards to business priorities, roadmap, and market engagement
  • Strong communication, presentation, and networking skills, with experience leading meetings with key leaders and decision makers 
  • Significant knowledge of the tech & venture ecosystem, with a particular focus on accounting firms
  • Relevant network of contacts within the community, specifically encompassing venture capital and accounting firms
  • Understanding of venture capital, private equity, fund administration, and/or investment management.  

Nice-to-Have

  • Prior experience managing relationships with high-profile ecosystem partners including investment fund sponsors, partners, or investment management communities
