Business Development Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our Advertising team at Zynga, Inc. As a Business Development Manager, you will play a vital role in negotiating advertising and other strategic agreements to support the growth and success of our Advertising business. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including legal, privacy, ad product, and technical teams, to ensure the successful execution of partnerships and agreements.

Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate strategic partnerships and agreements to drive revenue growth, development of new products, services, and partnerships in the digital advertising space.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the app digital advertising landscape, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key industry players, ad networks, and technology partners.
  • Explore new business opportunities and proactively seek potential partnerships to enhance our advertising offerings.

Agreement Negotiation: 

  • Lead and/or aid negotiations for advertising and related agreements, including but not limited to supply-side platform (SSP), demand-side platform (DSP), ad network, and data partnerships.
  • Collaborate with legal, privacy, and ad product teams to ensure compliance with privacy regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Review and analyze contractual terms and conditions, making recommendations to optimize agreements and mitigate potential risks.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with internal teams, such as legal, privacy, ad product, and technical teams, to align on business requirements and ensure smooth execution of partnerships.
  • Collaborate with the ad product team to identify and prioritize ad formats and targeting capabilities that align with market demand and advertiser needs.
  • Liaise with the technical team to understand and communicate technical requirements and capabilities to external partners.

Reporting: 

  • Ability to understand reports and provide insights to management regarding partnership performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Proven track record in business development and partnership management in the digital app advertising industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of the app digital advertising ecosystem, including ad networks, SSPs, DSPs, and programmatic advertising.
  • Familiarity with privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and their implications on digital advertising practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to interpret data and market trends.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Technical knowledge or understanding of ad-serving platforms, ad tracking, and measurement technologies is a plus.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $110,000 and $166,000 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an 'at-will position' and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
