Business Development Manager, Plum - Remote

ULTRA MOBILE is seeking a talented Business Development Manager, Plum  to join the Plum Team! Individual reports to Senior Sales Manager, Plum. Role is remote; must reside in the United States.


The Business Development Manager will help grow the Plum Solutions business by closing new wholesale accounts. Many businesses need to offer cellular service as part of their product or service. Plum Solutions offers wholesale plans and pricing, as well as a platform to manage all of the customer’s cellular connections. Plum targets many companies in the wholesale cellular and Internet of Things (IoT) space across a wide range of verticals.

Your usual day of awesomeness includes:  

  • Responsible for lead generation, prospecting, qualifying, and closing leads within a defined market.
  • Maintain cadence of cold calls and emails to ensure a healthy sales pipeline.
  • Schedule meetings, create pricing proposals, present to the client.
  • Develop strong working knowledge of Plum products.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the competitive landscape.
  • Responsible for customer on-boarding and growth.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospects and customers.
  • Liaise with cross-functional internal teams such as marketing, finance, account management, and customer support.
  • Occasional travel to attend trade shows and networking events; travel includes travel by car and airplane.


  • At least 2 - 5 years of B2B sales experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Self-starter mentality.
  • Willingness to prospect and cold call.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • IoT, cellular or carrier experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Salesforce.

In support of the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the range of starting pay for this role is $70,000 - $100,000.  This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, education, certifications, responsibility, and geographic location.  We also offer a variety of benefits including health, disability insurance, 401 (k), flexible spending accounts, EAP, education reimbursement, parental leave, unlimited vacation, bonuses, incentive stock options and company paid holidays.  The specific programs and options available will vary depending on state, start date, and employment type.
