About the role - your purpose

As a BDR, you’ll have a very specialised role and be a very active member of the team. You will be incredibly eager, tenacious and resilient, along with being a very well organised individual. There are heaps of opportunity to learn and grow here, and we aim to help you with your professional growth as much as possible!

This role, solely focused on lead generation and outbound marketing is suitable for someone very focused and goal driven. You will spend much of the day on the phone, making calls to prospects and building out our sales pipeline.

You will be responsible to the Lead Generation Manager, who will provide all the necessary guidance and training needed to ensure you settle in swiftly, feel at home, and carry out your role effectively.


Roles and Responsibilities - What will you be doing?

The BDR will mainly be responsible for*:

  • Generating high quality leads through a mixture of cold calling and marketing email campaigns
  • Scheduling daily meetings with prospects for the sales team in line with your targets
  • Understand Signal’s offerings and effectively communicate and apply them to each prospect’s needs
  • Accurately enter, update, and maintain daily activity and prospect information in SalesLoft and Salesforce, including comprehensive and up-to-date client information
  • Provide continual input to the sales and marketing teams in order to refine positioning and adapt to new market opportunities
  • Explore and suggest new target markets that the company may not have been initially prospecting
  • Suggest new ways to build your own network to attract prospects
  • Carrying out ad-hoc tasks as and when needed.

  • Ideally 6 months work experience including cold-calling experience
  • Proven experience of working in a fast paced environment (preferably a start-up but not a necessity)
  • Very persistent character, not afraid of rejection and never shying away from asking questions
  • Have a very positive attitude at all times
  • Extremely curious and eager to learn
  • Willing to step-up to help fellow team members if and when needed
  • A good sense of humor (it never hurts and always helps!)
  • An innate hunger for personal and company success
  • Ambitious and keen to excel every day!
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A good knowledge of the Public Relations industry, media monitoring and intelligence space would be very beneficial but not essential
  • Ability to change priorities quickly, and capacity to handle multiple tasks
  • Have a strong interest in tech, and the ability to clearly explain even the more complicated ideas to a non-technical audience
  • Fast worker! (we work in a very busy start-up environment)
