About the role:
We are looking for a Business Operations Analyst, who will join our newly formed Business Operations Team that is responsible for analytics and reporting for our People & Culture (P&C) and R&D departments. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Operations & Business Analytics, this highly visible role will have periodic meetings with top leadership in P&C, Product, and Engineering teams to provide operational insights from a data-driven perspective. An ideal candidate is analytical, driven, self-motivated and passionate about using data to tell a story. This is a hybrid role that requires weekly travel to the Somerville, MA headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- Build and help to standardize key reporting metrics (& dashboards) for strategic analysis within SmartBear’s P&C, Product, and Engineering departments, including but not limited to
- Talent Acquisition Operations
- Product / Feature releases (pre & post release)
- Engineering productivity / capacity
- Support department leaders during annual planning process
- Define weekly, monthly, and quarterly objectives for various teams within P&C, Product, and Engineering and create standardized reporting processes for their measurement
- Build process documentation and help to automate administrative process tasks for teams within P&C, Product, and Engineering
- Enhance talent acquisition team & engineering team productivity by enabling the team to work smarter by simplifying processes and evaluating new tools
- Work with BI Developer team member to build new dashboards or adjust existing dashboards to meet new/additional requirements from key stakeholders
- Assist in strategic initiatives involving cross-functional roles and build presentations that tell compelling stories through data
- Working daily with software including but not limited to Pendo, Greenhouse, Bamboo, Salesforce, and Tableau
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2+ years of analytics and operations experience
- Strong excel skills
- Demonstrative executive presence and ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Self-starter with ability to function independently and in a timely manner
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage your own workload and adjust priorities to work efficiently and meet deadlines
- Experience working in a SaaS company is a plus
- Experience working with SQL or Python is a plus
- Experience in analytics involving hiring, employee retention, engineering productivity, and product user behaviors is a plus
