Business Operations Intern - Packed with Purpose

Packed with Purpose seeks a dynamic, problem-solving intern who is interested in joining a young company that is disrupting the gifting industry.

Position Description

Packed with Purpose seeks a dynamic intern who wants to contribute to a start-up’s successful brand growth in an entrepreneurial environment. This position is based in Chicago and can vary from 20-40 hours of work per week. Primary responsibilities will vary but may include:

  • Research: Gather data, perform competitive and market research to generate insights that drive new/ improved business growth and processes
  • Analysis: Analyze existing and/ or new data to improve internal and external operational efficiencies and business processes; analysis projects may span areas from accounting to finance to general business operations
  • Database Management: Build out and improve internal databases, including but not limited to: product inventory and pricing database, e-commerce systems, back-end order and fulfillment operations
  • Communications: Actively contribute to and execute communications (written and verbal outreach) to potential product suppliers (social enterprises), fulfillment center (operations partner) and/ or sales team to create improved operational processes
  • Project Management: Develop and own timeline on key milestones and deliverables; follow work prioritization guidelines; maintain well organized customer and vendor database, documentation of project advancements and other internal systems

  • Excellent presence and strong ability to articulate ideas through written and verbal communication
  • Excellent organizational skills, including any experience managing contact/vendor databases, billing or operational systems
  • Ability to work with limited information; comfort with ambiguity in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Interest in building the efficiency and growth of an innovative brand
