What’s the opportunity?

We’re looking for a Buyer to join our Retail team at Patch to lead our outdoor proposition for Spring 2021, a real area for growth at Patch. You will be responsible for building a range of plants, pots and accessories that our customers love and delivers our key commercial metrics. You’ll be able to hit the ground running and take ownership of the outdoor product category from day one. You will thrive working in a fast paced environment with an eye for product and a passion for plants. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team with scope to move to a permanent role.

What will the job involve?

• Defining our outdoor product strategy and critical path for launch
• Understanding of the outdoor market and what our product proposition should look like to serve our customers
• Working closely with the merchandising team to analyse sales data and feed into range decisions
• Creating commercially successful ranges across all outdoor products including plants, pots and accessories
• Building a strong supply base of growers in Holland for plants and across Europe for ancillary ranges, maintaining relationships and negotiating costs to deliver on margin targets
• Liasing with other teams in the business e.g. marketing and strategy to drive the proposition

Requirements

What experience, skills and traits do I need?

• 4-6 years of previous buying experience
• Experience of owning product categories and developing ranges with successful outcomes
• Own-brand buying experience
• Experience in buying horticulture/and or homeware categories
• Strong attention to detail
• Strategic and logical thinker
• Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities
• You are energetic, hardworking and thrive in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
• A passion for product
• Willingness to get stuck in & take ownership from the get go
• Strong communication skills & ability to present ideas in a clear and concise manner across the business
  

Nice to have:

• Dutch speaking (candidate can be based in Holland)
• Previous experience working in a startup
• Previous experience working in e-commerce
