Castings and Extrusions Specialist

The Specialist will be responsible for research, development and leading the scientific activities for castings and extrusions and associated materials in order to support and develop the design and engineering activities, technologies and processes of the vehicle components and systems.
The Specialist will ensure compliance of the materials, processes and technologies developed with the parts, systems and vehicle targets: design, attributes, structural requirements, quality objectives, program milestones, deliverables and specific targets (performance, cost, weight, safety, timing, etc.).
The Specialist will develop unique and highly advanced engineering concepts and designs, leading innovation and advanced technologies for the vehicle systems.
The Specialist will fully support implementation in production and interfaces, cooperation and integration with other Company’s groups.
The Specialist will provide development plans for scientific research and R&D on castings, extrusions, materials, processes and manufacturing technologies designated to provide the Company efficiency and advanced use of the products.
The Specialist will coordinate and manage suppliers in the process of researching, developing, and producing new materials, advanced technologies, components and systems; it will integrate their activities and products with the Company departments.
The Specialist will focus on HPDC, LPDC, core, sand, investment and other casting processes; also, on extruded lightweight Aluminum and associated material and processes.
The Specialist will not have responsibility on one specific area of the vehicle, but rather participate and advise on any projects within the Department regarding these processes and products. 
The Specialist will report to the Body and Structural Engineering Director.
