Artsy is seeking a part time specialist to support our Catalog team. As a Catalog Associate you will be on the front lines of maintaining the integrity of our marketplace and providing a joyful buying experience for our collectors. This is a 6 month, part-time (20 hours per week) role, based in New York.

The Catalog Associate will be responsible for ensuring artworks listed on Artsy are authentic and accurately described. You’ll do this by coordinating regular reviews of our artwork listings and communicating directly with sellers. You will also be responsible for handling incoming reports from buyers and sellers and responding in a timely manner, representing Artsy’s brand and customer centric approach with every touch point.

As a Catalog Associate you will have some experience in data management and research, as well as experience communicating professionally with external parties. Experience in library science, art history, or the art market is a plus for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular reviews of our artwork listings by communicating with both our data review team and with our external partners to ensure listings are accurately described
  • Support the cleanup of metadata, including some research into artists and authenticity issues
  • Manage incoming review requests from internal teams and external partners and coordinate cross-functional communication to address issues
  • Handle direct communication with partners to resolve escalated matters regarding listing policies

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Experience in an administrative, operations, or support role (preferably in an e-commerce marketplace)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience coordinating projects between multiple stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills; experience working with external parties/clients and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, especially when communicating with external parties
  • Self motivated, results oriented and metrics driven

Preferred, not required:

Experience in data management, library science, art history, or research
