Category Manager

Massdrop is searching for a Category Manager to oversee two or more of our Commerce categories. Our Category Managers are an integral part of the Massdrop Commerce Team, partnering with our Buyers in developing and working with our cross-functional partners to drive business and respond to the needs of our communities through appropriate product offerings. This includes providing guidance for all aspects of the Commerce cycle, including assisting with strategic planning, product selection, community relations, creative support, all with the goal of providing the most amazing products we can find. 

The successful candidate will have a “can-do” attitude and a willingness to roll up their sleeves and help out wherever necessary.  This is a challenging position requiring negotiations experience, management experience and a passion for the enthusiast customer.

What you'll do as part of the team:

  • Partner with the Buying Team and other Category Management team members as well as company executives to develop strategies for your categories
  • Oversee Category Leaders and Associates as they work to execute the joint Buying/Category Management strategy for their respective communities
  • Partner with the creative, logistics and community support teams to develop efficient and effective systems and processes
  • Perform analysis on existing sales and community member responses to products offered
  • Perform tasks related to the actual execution of getting products ready for offering
  • Monitor and engage with the community through polls and discussions

Qualifications

  • 2 years of relevant management experience
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytically minded and capable of making thoughtful time sensitive decisions based on available information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Buying, negotiations, or sales experience and business knowledge required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
