Chief Data Scientist

We’re seeking an innovative, intellectually curious and results oriented Chief Data Scientist to support, enhance and expand Clear’s current and projected security algorithms. As a critical member of our research and development team, you will have a prominent voice in the future of our company. You’re a deep thinker who enjoys solving critical problems, and can own a solution from end to end. You are technically proficient and have the ability to access and wrangle large amounts of structured and unstructured data, a great business sense, the desire to influence strategic decisions with data-driven analysis, and a good amount of internet and social media savvy.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the in-house subject matter expert for natural language processing and machine learning, including the creation of algorithms
  • Research, design, and evaluate machine learning approaches and models
  • Lead the data architecture and engineering decision-making to support analytics
  • Implement advanced analytical modeling to deliver the data science content of project
  • Use data visualization and summarization techniques for conveying key findings
  • Collaborate with all business stakeholders to integrate data mining results within existing processes and systems
  • Lead the design and implementation of ongoing reporting and analytics
  • Communicate findings and obstacles to stakeholders to help drive the delivery to market
  • Conceptual modeling, Predictive modeling, Hypothesis testing, Rapid prototyping

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • A desire to work in a collaborative, intellectually curious environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • M.S. in Computer Science, Operations Research, Computational Economics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field and at least 2 years work experience
  • Experience in designing analytic and/or algorithmic solutions to business or operational problems
  • Experience working with big data and/or relational databases and SQL in a real-world context
  • Ability to clean, transform, and merge your own data in a procedural language like Python or R


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Operations Research, Computational Economics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field and at least 2 years work experience
  • Strong background in big data workflows and infrastructure implementation.
  • Strong background in statistics methodology, applications to business problems.
  • Applicants with more experience, including mid-career, are also strongly encouraged to apply.
