We guide people through the challenge of finding and hiring the right contractor for their project, saving them time, money, and aggravation. This year alone, we’ll manage nearly $400M in projects and are doubling each year with a clear path to becoming the category defining company in residential construction.

The Chief of Staff works directly on behalf of the Founders, identifying and tackling some of our most critical challenges during a period of rapid growth. The problem space ranges from our GTM teams, through talent acquisition, and into FP&A, making it ideal for a candidate eager to tackle the range of challenges that come with running a business unit or company. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong blend of quantitative and operational ability, and is energized when jumping into the trenches and working alongside teammates from across the company to best understand how to empower them. 

Examples of projects you may tackle:

  • In partnership with the CEO and existing recruiting team, operationalize our talent acquisition strategy and ensure consistent, sustainable execution 
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to identify and prototype improvements to our view of core KPI’s, before working with the Data & Analytics team on implementation 
  • Work with our sales team to improve our lead activation rates by decreasing the latency between lead submission and first call, in addition to optimizing our automated lead activation systems  
  • Working with a cross-functional team, collaboratively design and implement a pilot aimed at measuring the potential impact of an ancillary revenue opportunity 
  • Work with the CEO & Director of Finance to apply insights on key drivers of marketplace liquidity back into our forecasting model 

Requirements

  • 2+ years in business operations or analytics with a startup or startup-like unit within a larger business
  • Undergraduate degree with a strong, verifiable track record 
  • Previous experience in management consulting, investment banking, or related field
  • Understand and ideally embrace opportunities to actually work with IC's across the org (e.g. sales, project management), en route to building a comprehensive understanding of something we may be looking to optimize  
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skill set, with a deep appreciation for the value of ethnographic research 
  • Solid methodological approach in tackling business problems that always starts by understanding both context and precedence 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build and maintain productive business relationships across different departments
