Chief of Staff, Global Supply Management & Business Development

The Chief of Staff will work closely with the VP of Business Development and Global Supply Management and their leadership team to prioritize the group’s efforts, drive highest impact initiatives, and track and manage progress against their short and long term goals.The Chief of Staff will develop and operationalize processes, project manage strategic cross-functional initiatives, lead special projects, and play a key role (alongside their Executive Business Partner) in ensuring the VP is prepared and focused on the highest impact initiatives for Lyft.

The Chief of Staff will have their pulse and ear to the BD/GSM team, mitigating office politics and fostering a healthy team culture. They will uphold Lyft’s values and principles. The Chief of Staff will facilitate internal communications with the BD/GSM team and serve as a key liaison across central functions and lines of business.

The ideal candidate is an innovative and strategic thinker with the ability to operate at 3,000 feet at any moment. The Chief of Staff will be expected to demonstrate a high EQ and possess the ability to provide transparent feedback where needed. This person is an expert at relationship building and negotiation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and operationalize processes (templates, notes, action items)
  • Drive the annual planning and quarterly business review process
  • Gather 360 input and research to assist VP with effective decision making
  • Prepare for critical meetings and act as a proxy to the VP of BD and GSM in high stake debates
  • Monitor progress toward collective team goals and prepare recommendations to improve team health and business performance
  • Work closely with VP’s Executive Business Partner to drive a thriving team culture through various initiatives and events
  • Act as a trusted confidant and sounding board to multiple stakeholders on sensitive topics

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in a Consulting, Supply Chain, Procurement, and/or Business Development 
  • Ability to quickly become an expert and advise on topics with limited knowledge or context
  • Experience partnering effectively on cross-functional projects or teams and in communicating with and influencing executives and stakeholders
  • Experience with strategy, operations, and leading projects with multiple teams/stakeholders
  • Experience performing in high stakes and dynamic environments
  • Technical fluency and/or product experience is a plus
  • Excellent business judgment, thought leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Can-do attitude, with a bias for action
