Rex, founded and led by billion-dollar investment and operations company Executive Chairman Peter Rex, is looking for a seasoned Chief of Staff, Personal Office (COS) to oversee the CEO’s office.  The COS is an invisible force behind the scenes who can anticipate issues because they’ve seen every type of problem imaginable many times before.  

The COS can jump into a variety of projects without domain expertise, and is a master at finding knowledge, critically thinking, and executing. The COS is an expert at leveraging themselves and cultivating the Executive Assistants under them. A constant learner, the COS must seek out ways to grow and develop within the role. 

This role is a long term partnership with the CEO. As such, the COS should have a passion for serving the CEO, and the CEO’s mission must resonate deeply. 

In year one you will be: 

  • Institutionalizing and streamlining the CEO’s Office to create redundancy between roles
  • Leading, cultivating, and recruiting Executive Assistants who cycle through the Office in 18-36 month stints
  • Managing complex calendar and travel logistics to include scheduling meetings and ensuring the CEO is briefed on all prior 
  • Managing and understanding a large network of personal and professional relationships to include relationships with family, friends, partners, business connections, investors, and media 
  • Drafting, reviewing, and executing communications on behalf of the CEO 
  • Managing outside vendors and internal teammates to leverage individual capacity 

The ideal candidate has: 

  • 20+ years of experience assisting C-Suite executives 
  • Experience working with an entrepreneurial CEO who has built stuff from the ground up
  • Unwavering discretion 
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven track record of executing vague or open-ended directives 
  • Excellent decision-making capability
  • Hard-edged but diplomatic demeanor 
  • Deep mission and value alignment with the CEO
