This role is primarily responsible for translating the Hosting Tech Vision and Strategy into a roadmap and operating plan, and monitoring its execution. You will work side-by-side with the Hosting CTO to help design and run the operating system and processes for the business, monitor key projects and programs delivery, and manage communication cascade to Hosting peers, Hosting Tech leadership and broader Tech organization. This role will also work closely with the Hosting leadership team in SF and around the world as well as key teams and leaders across Airbnb. 

You will have a unique opportunity to shadow the VP, and will be exposed to how executives set vision and strategy and how they evaluate key decisions for the future of the business. The primary focus of the role is to be a thought partner and maximize productivity and bandwidth through effective time management, project monitoring and prioritization. 

Role & Responsibilities

  • Help run and refine the operating system and cadence in partnership with Hosting Tech Leadership and COEs 
  • Partner with the Hosting CTO, Sr. TPM and Tech leadership team to develop a single roadmap for executing the agreed strategy.
  • Ensure the right meetings take place at the right time with the appropriate agenda to effectively run day-to-day operations. Partner closely with the Executive Assistant for effective time management and prioritization to maximize leadership team productivity.
  • Drive the process for follow up and follow through on action items that emerge from regular operating forums. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor, thought partner and facilitator of information coming in, exercising judgement on when topics need to be discussed and decisions need to be made. 
  • Support Tech Leads in cascading key info via weekly updates, email comms, Q&A, [email protected] meetings, etc. and partnering with Hosting Communications designee
  • Provide leverage and bandwidth by leading special projects and initiatives on behalf of the Hosting CTO
  • Prepare strategic documents to present new proposals and updates to senior leaders
  • Maintain confidentiality of the information. The role has access to executive level information and it is vital that confidentiality is maintained. 

Requirements

  • 10+ years of related work experience 
  • Business acumen and experience in working on strategic projects is preferred
  • Prior experience in Consulting, Product management, Finance or Business planning roles is preferred but not necessary 
  • Process management - Experience with building and maintaining processes is preferred
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking skills - ability to connect dots and proactively develop proposals and solutions.
  • Ability to build relationships with and influence executive stakeholders 
  • Systems-thinking and ability to build simple and scalable processes 
  • Ability to manage complex projects and successfully see them through completion.
  • Strong project management and organization skills 
  • Proactively anticipates the needs of the VP and their teams and takes appropriate action
