POSITION SUMMARY
MIT45’s Chief of Staff will serve as the right-hand partner to its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ryan Niddel, so he can maximize his efficiencies and continue to guide the operation toward a 10-figure valuation. This role spans both the strategic and the tactical, working very closely with the CEO and other stakeholders to ensure accountability, execution, and delivery of strategic priorities. The Chief of Staff will serve as the organizational “glue” to propel initiatives forward. The ideal candidate is someone passionate about being an integrator, project management, and creating scalable systems and processes while honoring the corporate culture that has been established. This will help garner respect and trust from the other experienced leaders inside of the organization.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Chief of Staff’s responsibilities will encompass three primary areas:
Ensure strategic alignment
- Assist in structuring a strategic agenda with the CEO based on his vision and key initiatives
- Serve as a highly reputable extension of the CEO to internal and external stakeholders, whenever necessary
- Rationalize CEO’s time, so it is spent in the appropriate focus areas
- Plan ahead by identifying project obstacles, researching opportunities, and drafting solutions for the principals
Facilitate cross-functional integration
- Execute projects/programs by translating to actionable steps, gaining cross-functional buy-in
- Maintain a collaborative and highly cohesive team aligned toward the same goals
- Build relationships with employees across the organization, understanding each team member’s priorities, challenges, and opportunities
- Foster an environment of transparency and collaboration across the organization; the COS will be a resource to CEO to remove obstacles preventing progress on strategic initiatives
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects and activities
Ensure CEO’s highest and best use of time
- Ensure “quality control” of information and communication to reduce reactivity
- Provide consistent and relevant briefing information to the principal prior to key meetings and events
- Ensure time is properly rationalized and spent in the appropriate areas of focus
- Attend key meetings and events with, or on behalf of, the CEO; ensure timely follow-up of all action items
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of prior relevant work experience with proven high-performance results
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact with the highest level of leadership and build rapport with internal and external partners
- Excellent oral, written communication, and presentation skills and proven ability to communicate across organizational levels and roles
- Ability to understand and anticipate the needs of an individual and act on them without direction
- Exemplifies an open mindset and commitment to internal growth
- Experience with strategic planning, organizational planning, and operational follow-through
- High emotional intelligence
- Solid business acumen: you understand key leadership and managerial attributes to lead projects from end-to-end with multiple stakeholders involved
- Strong knowledge of operational systems, structures, and ways of working with a collective team and executive office
- Data-driven with a bias towards taking action to improve key metrics
- Concise, persuasive, and authentic communicator both verbally and in written communication
- Excellence in execution: solid experience implementing strategic visions at a tactical level
SALARY
$150,000 - $170,000
