Cloud Security Engineer

Overview:
Cloud Security Engineer will serve as a critical bridge between on-site operations and global security initiatives. Based in California, Mountain View office, this role focuses on collaborating with local DevOps and Engineering teams while aligning with worldwide security objectives. The ideal candidate will drive key security engineering projects, evaluate and integrate cutting-edge security tools, oversee secure deployment practices, and implement continuous monitoring to safeguard the organization’s infrastructure. This includes specialized responsibilities for Cequence Bot and API security, and Palo Alto Prisma Cloud’s Cloud Security, Runtime, and AppSec modules.
This role requires a proactive and collaborative mindset to integrate global security standards with local operations. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring that security initiatives—including Cequence Bot and API security, and Palo Alto Prisma Cloud capabilities—are seamlessly implemented, enabling the organization to maintain a robust security posture while meeting both local and global objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Local Collaboration & Alignment

·        Bridge On-Site and Global Operations: Align local operations with overarching global security initiatives and client objectives.

·        Real-Time Collaboration: Facilitate and drive critical security engineering projects, ensuring timely execution of the security roadmap.

·        In-Person Support: Provide immediate, on-site support and actionable insights to California-based DevOps and Engineering teams, upholding global security standards.

Product Evaluation & Testing

·        Tool and Services Assessment: Evaluate, select, and recommend security tools and services that meet the organization’s evolving requirements.

·        Proof of Value (POV): Conduct trials in lower environments to validate compatibility and effectiveness of proposed security solutions.

·        Integration Validation: Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering teams to ensure smooth integration of new tools into existing workflows

Deployment & Configuration

·        Secure Rollouts: Oversee production deployments of approved security products, ensuring all configurations meet strict security standards.

·        CI/CD Coordination: Work closely with DevOps engineers using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and ArgoCD to ensure seamless and secure deployments.

·        Best Practices: Develop, implement, and enforce guidelines for consistent and secure infrastructure setups.

Continuous Monitoring & Runtime Security

·        Threat Detection: Implement runtime security scans to identify vulnerabilities and threats in real time.

·        Alerting & Dashboards: Configure alerts and maintain comprehensive dashboards to support rapid incident response and remediation.

·        Collaborative Remediation: Partner with on-site and global teams to investigate and resolve security findings at the escalation level.

Requirements

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.

·        10+ years of proven experience in security engineering or operations, preferably within a global or multi-site environment.

·        Strong background in CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and ArgoCD.

·        Familiarity with runtime security platforms and vulnerability management.

·        Demonstrated experience or familiarity with Bot and API security solutions and best practices.

·        Experience with Palo Alto Prisma Cloud’s Cloud Security, Runtime, and AppSec modules is required.

·        Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and geographies.

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

·        Eligibility to work in the US without any restrictions

·        Ability to commute to the office based in Mountain View, CA on a hybrid schedule
