Commercial Excellence Manager

This role will be reporting to the Commercial Excellence Regional Director.

This role will identify commercial and operational opportunities and challenges in the region and feed them back to Headquarters. Within the region, the CEM supports LPS to grow performance and help set priorities based on regional and company strategies. 

This role is a full time position based in any of the offices in South APAC

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Together with the CED, be a strategic partner to key decision and strategy makers in different departments in Amsterdam HQ 
    • Add value to their work by presenting key insights from the regions to guide their development
    • Make sure the priorities and needs of the region are clear for HQ and considered from the beginning of their product / strategy development processes 
  • Support RDs and APAC LT in commercial strategy development and execution as well as strategic decision making by supporting with
    • Identification of local business opportunities and business case development
    • Annual and quarterly strategy development
    • Managing strategic programs
  • Support RDs and RMs by making sure LPS understand strategy coming from HQ and how they should operationalize.
  • Support RDs and RMs by making sure LPS understands strategy and is able to execute. This includes making sure LPS  is supported by the right operating model 
    • Strategic storytelling from a local perspective
    • Successful roll out of new products and strategic initiatives (with clear link to overall strategy)
    • Performance analyses and recommendations
    • Reporting on performance and targets
    • FTE allocation and capabilities
    • Tooling (to support effectiveness and efficiency of account management)
    • Developing Target structure and guiding target setting process
    • Commercial Playbooks 
    • Operating model elements include:

         - Lead a team of PPMs (topic specialists) and Commercial Specialists 

  • Collaborate with RDs and RMs to develop strategy (including business cases) from a regional point of view and deliver proactive input on these  strategic opportunities and needs to the right stakeholders in HQ
  • Support RDs and RMs to operationalize HQ / Regional strategy for the region
  • Lead your team in enabling LPS to execute product strategy by rolling out products & initiatives in the region, training them, monitoring performance and giving advice to RMs and ARMs to increase performance
  • Lead your team in enabling to give timely and constructive feedback to product teams on (defining) product value propositions
  • Lead strategic programs in the region 
  • Work with Regional and Area managers to improve commercial and operational performance of the region 
  • Participating in quarterly CEM meetings at Booking.com HQ, Amsterdam

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent;
  • 4+ years’ experience in Booking.com with a strong analytical background;  
  • Understanding of the HQ and local organization and of the role of Regional and Area Managers
  • Understand what can be influenced to improve partner satisfaction;  
  • Excellent communication, influencing and commercial skills;
  • Excellent implementation and project management skills
  • Excellent data analysis skills
  • Strong commercial focus and the ability to prioritize tasks accordingly;
  • Pragmatic and results-focused;
  • Able to work well independently and within a team; good communication skills with a "can do" attitude toward problem solving;
  • Available to travel 50% of your time.
  • APAC market experience is preferred
