Communications Lead

About the role:

As Communications Lead, you’ll define and execute strategy and practices for communicating value and sharing information to engage design team members and elevate our client’s brand in the larger design community. This role will focus on design org communications, company-level communications for executive audiences and external communications.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and manage a communications plan outlining routine communication, including cadence & channels
  • Provide communication and planning support for special projects including an annual remote design summit and org survey
  • Provide communication and planning support for cultural initiatives, design-led meetings, learning and development speakers/events and design critiques
  • Plan, edit and write content for internal communications platforms including internal design websites, presentations, emails, and internal social channels
  • Plan, edit and write content for monthly design newsletter incorporating thematic, relevant topics, leadership insights, and UX trends
  • Define and effectively use design-led communication platforms with a broader audience
  • Plan & author thought leadership and editorial content
  • Define social media strategy and create content to deliver on strategy
  • Foster relationships with schools to support recruiting and thought leadership efforts
  • Manage sponsor relationships and help with event planning and hosting
  • Help place designers and leadership in speaking roles at events
  • Define and manage external email list and marketing content

What you need to be great in this role:

  • 5+ years of work experience
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Strong public speaking skills and presentation delivery
  • Ability to create professional and creative presentations
  • Highly effective communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Experience supporting in-house or consultancy design teams
  • Advanced familiarity and experience Google Suite
  • At the time of this posting, the base salary for this position may range from $105,000.00 to $115,000.00. Individual compensation varies based on job related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package
  • This role will be performed remote with the expectation of working eastern standard hours
