Computational Biology Internship

The Computational Biology team at Arbor Biotechnologies is seeking an intern to contribute their interest and skills toward enhancing our core data and analytical capabilities. As an intern, you will get the opportunity to interface with R&D scientists, handle NGS data at scale, and work with a variety of bioinformatics tools. This internship will provide a broad understanding of a variety of experimental and computational research in therapeutic discovery and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with R&D and compute scientists to conceive and develop new approaches and computational solutions to scientific problems.
  • Process and/or analyze large-scale experimental datasets to generate insights.
  • Develop new ways to access, visualize, and interpret molecular biology data
  • Regularly communicate the results, interpretations, and conclusions of your work.
  • Follow proper programming and documentation practices.
  • Identify and address opportunities to improve processes and workflows.
  • Explore more specialized work depending on the intern’s skills and interests.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Student pursuing bachelor’s degree.
  • Completed relevant coursework in data science, computer science, software engineering, statistics, molecular biology, genetics, bioinformatics, computation, etc.
  • Proficiency in Python, Jupyter, and handling messy data.
  • Familiarity with R, version control (git), and data visualization.
  • Strong organizational skills; solid written and oral communication with the ability to work well within a team environment.
