Contract Site Reliability Engineer

Contract role, initially 3-6 months, inside IR35

Here at Burendo we are looking to recruit a contract Site Reliability Engineer, inside IR35 for a 3-6 month contract (with potential to be extended). This is a hybrid role with occasional office time on client site.

Requirements

What you'll do:

• System Reliability and Performance: Ensure app and API reliability by monitoring, addressing bottlenecks, and managing SLAs/SLOs.
• Monitoring, Observability, and Dashboards: Create and maintain real-time dashboards with tools like Azure App Insights and Grafana, ensuring meaningful telemetry and logs.
• Incident Management: Respond to and resolve production incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and perform post-mortems.
• Automation and Efficiency: Automate tasks, deployments, and incident recovery while building self-healing mechanisms to minimise downtime and improve reliability.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate across teams (development, security and compliance) to integrate reliability practices, meet organisational standards and improve app stability and performance.

What you'll bring:

• Azure Expertise: Proficient in Azure Functions, Azure API Management and Azure App Insights, with experience in Azure Monitor, Application Gateway, Log Analytics, and Key Vault.
• Monitoring, Observability and Dashboards: Skilled in creating dashboards with Azure App Insights, Grafana, Kibana, and Dynatrace/New Relic, with KQL proficiency.
• Automation and Infrastructure as Code: Experienced in scripting with Python, PowerShell, Bash, and Terraform, Bicep, and ARM for IaC.
• Incident and Performance Management: Strong in incident response, root cause analysis, and performance optimisation.
• CI/CD and DevOps: Hands on experience in Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, and managing containerised application deployment (e.g. Kubernetes, AKS).
• Security and Compliance: Knowledgeable in secure app development, compliance standards (e.g. GDPR, SOC2), and API security mechanisms like OAuth and Azure AD.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving abilities

Additional preferred experience:

• Mobile App Monitoring: Experience with Firebase Performance Monitoring, App Center, and Crashlytics.
• Mobile App Architecture: Knowledge of Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Dashboards and Visualisation: Skilled in designing user-friendly dashboards for both technical and non-technical audiences.
