Controller

Intersection is looking for a world class Controller to join and lead the Accounting team. This is a great opportunity to join an exciting new company bringing innovation to the urban cityscape. The Controller is responsible for all accounting functions of the Company, including oversight of the Accounting department, all reporting, accounting rules and procedures and controls.

Key Relationships:

This position reports to the CFO and manages several accounting teams, but works directly with the senior leadership of the Company, including Senior Management, Sales, Operations, Finance, Business Development, and Legal.

Responsibilities:

Reporting: 

  • Oversee creation of monthly reporting packages for the Company’s Board of Directors and other key stakeholders 
  • Ensure timely reporting for compliance with lender and Board of Director requirements 
  • Provide the status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting on financial data according to GAAP 
  • Provide value-added analytical reports to Senior Management of the Company 
  • Oversee preparation of budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data, and recommending plans

Capital Controls:

  • Monitor and control Company capital expenditures vs approved Board levels for both Intersection and CityBridge 
  • Monitor and control operating expenses including reviewing actual vs targeted levels with each Department head on a monthly basis

Management: 

  • Manage the year-end financial audit process 
  • Monitor financial condition by conducting financial reviews and preparing for audits 
  • Oversee all operations of the accounting department, including resource planning and performance management 
  • Assist in the integration of new business units (acquisitions and start-ups) into centralized transaction processing and financial reporting 
  • Support adaptation and evolution of processes and systems for rapid growth business and expansion into new markets

Transactions and Compliance:

  • Review and establish all accounting policies and procedures along with documentation and enforcement with an eye towards IPO/SOX compliance environment 
  • Ensure timely filing of all tax reports and other regulatory returns 
  • Prepare ad hoc reports as requested 
  • Provide oversight for an accounting system integration and data migration project

Required Experience:

  • 10-15+ years of relevant experience with 3 or more years in a supervisory capacity 
  • CPA is required with Big 4 experience a plus 
  • SEC reporting experience is a plus 
  • Consolidation experience 
  • Great Plains expertise 
  • International operations and experience with foreign currencies is a plus

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration, or equivalent degree is required; advanced degree is a plus
